Individual health insurance, also known as personal health plans or non-group coverage, is a health policy that covers a person’s medical bills and hospitalization costs.

Individual health insurance can be purchased for an individual or family, and can include a spouse, children, or parents. Individual benefits are not supported by the employer, and the individual pays for health insurance out of pocket.
